Heart Foundation Tick

Fresh hen shell eggs produced in Australia are eligible for the Heart Foundation's Tick of approval.
The move to include eggs in the Heart Foundation's Tick Program was based on scientific evidence showing eggs are a highly nutritious food that can be included in the diet of healthy Australians.
The Tick is now appearing on egg packaging to quickly highlight that, like other healthy foods such as lean meat & poultry, eggs are a nourishing food. They are also an excellent source of protein for the healthy population.
Eggs are particularly nutrient dense, but their role in a healthy eating pattern has been overshadowed by long-held myths primarily focused on their content of cholesterol and fat.
Only egg companies that comply with the strict criteria laid down by the Heart Foundation and the Australian Egg Corporation are eligible to use the Tick.
